Fitness Certificate Registration

All businesses operating within the Omaruru municipal area must be registered under Section 94(1) of the Local Authorities Act (Act No. 23 of 1992) and hold a valid Fitness/Business Registration Certificate.

NB: Certificates must be renewed annually by 31 March each year.

How to Register Your Business

  • Step 1: Application Form – Obtain and complete the Application for Business Registration form at the Municipality Office.
  • Step 2: Supporting Documents – Attach certified copies of your Namibian citizenship or permanent residence, company registration documents, and lease agreement if applicable.
  • Step 3: Pay the Fee – Pay the application fee at the Finance Department and attach the receipt to your form.
  • Step 4: Inspection – Comply with all requirements for your business category. The Environmental Health Officer will conduct an inspection of your premises.
  • Step 5: Certificate Issued – Upon successful compliance, your Fitness/Business Registration Certificate will be issued.
